Successful as a child actor, studying drama and stage design in Montreal , touring Germany with Hair and playing theatres all over UK including Richard Eyres Christmas carol at the Lyceum theatre in Edinburgh. Gennie featured in many UK series most famously the early series of Minder playing Penny the air hostess girlfriend of Terry whilst constantly engaged in VoiceOver radio and post sync work. Moving to Australia to Marry in 1981 appeared in just about every TV series in the 80 and 90 from sons and daughters car sons law zoo family children’s hospital all saints packed to the Rafters etc etc. Several films to her credit perhaps most well know Deidre chambers in Muriel wedding.

A break for the acting world gave her the opportunity to developed Amazement on a 15 acre farm in the Yarramalong valley , a destination for families with mazes puzzles and animals .
Sold after the tragic death of her husband Peter , Gennie still lives on the central coast , has a program on local radio , remarried and is now Jennifer Manwaring – always keen to go back to her love of television , storytelling , is proud mother of son Joss Engebretsen and of 3 step children and 9 grandchildren
Recently working for the ABC comedy department and various pilot TV series , and of course commercials – Aldi , comm bank , and recently the Betta electrics campaign
